Durepox is an epoxy urethane with amazing adhesion to carbon fibre, fibreglass and wood, which can be applied without sanding between coats. While developed as a primer, Durepox is used as a topcoat on racing boats as it has excellent water barrier properties and exceptional weather stability. Durepox was tested by the Otago Flume Laboratory and results showed that its satin finish gave a 15% less drag coefficient than a high gloss surface on rowing skulls. On a practical level, painters admire its fast dry properties and sandability after three hours with no shrink back.

Now Available in high visibility Fluorescent Pink, Orange and Yellow!

World Sailing offshore regulations require high visibility patches on the bottom of race yachts. We are now able to mix durepox primer in high visibility pink, orange and yellow.

Caution: Due to the nature of fluorescent pigments they are less stable in ultraviolet light and therefore do not have the colour fastness expected from normal Durepox primer, this can be improved by overcoating with Durepox High Performance Clear.

For the best results we recommend painting a white base at full coverage prior to the application of this coating, this can be done in a "wet on wet" process.
