Using modern metallic flake technology, = Awlgrip has=20 produced H9178 Cordovan Gold and H9182 Pale Gold in = AWLGRIP=AE and=20 F9147 Cordovan Gold and F9145 Pale Gold in AWLCRAFT=AE 2000. = Full hide=20 is easily accomplished in 2 to 3 coats, the problem of = metallic=20 flake float has been drastically reduced, and color = consistency is=20 dramatically improved. These new versions of Pale & = Cordovan=20 Gold will allow applicators to quickly and easily apply gold = metallic stripes with outstanding color, brilliance and = luster=20 adding the final detail to an amazing finish.

AWLGRIP=AE Cordovan Gold (H9178) and Pale Gold (H9182) = have the=20 metallic flake pre-mixed into the pigmented color base and = are mixed=20 in the same way as conventional pigmented AWLGRIP=AE = Topcoats.

AWLCRAFT=AE 2000 Cordovan Gold (F9147) and Pale Gold = (F9145) have=20 the metallic flake pre-mixed into the pigmented color base = and are=20 mixed in the same way as conventional pigmented AWLCRAFT=AE = 2000=20 Topcoats.

Surface=20 Preparation

AWLGRIP=AE and AWLCRAFT=AE Gold Metallics = should be=20 applied over properly prepared 545 Primer or Awlgrip = topcoat. The=20 primed surface must be clean and dry. Achieving maximum = gloss and=20 distinction of image requires the primer be smooth sanded = with=20 220-320 grit paper before topcoat application. When applying = metallics over Awlgrip topcoats, sand the surface with = 220-400 grit=20 paper.

Mixing and=20 Reduction

AWLGRIP=AE H9178, H9182

Spray Only: Mix by volume 1 part H9178 or = H9182=20 AWLGRIP=AE Topcoat Base component with 1 part AWL-CAT=AE #2 = (G3010)=20 Spray Converter to a smooth, homogenous mixture. Reduce = 12=BD-25% with=20 T0001 orT0002 Reducer. Overall mix is 1:1:=BC-=BD by volume. = Example: 8=20 oz. Base, 8 oz. G3010, 2-4 oz. Reducer. 25% reduction is a = standard=20 mix. Clear coats, metallic colors, and painting in high = temperature=20 conditions may require additional reduction.

AWLCRAFT=AE 2000 F9147, F9145

Spray Only: Mix by volume two parts F9147 or = F9145=20 AWLCRAFT=AE 2000 Topcoat Base component with one part = AWL-CAT=AE #2=20 (G3010) Spray Converter to a smooth, homogenous mixture. = Reduce=20 25%-33% with T0001 or T0002 Reducer. Overall mix is = 2:1:=BE-1 by=20 volume. Example: 8 oz. Base, 4 oz. G3010, 3-4 oz. Reducer. = 25%=20 reduction is a standard mix. Clear coats, metallic colors, = and=20 painting in high temperature conditions may require = additional=20 reduction.

Application=20 Instructions

Apply by spray in 2 to 3 light, smooth, slightly wet = coats. Allow=20 20 to 40 minutes tack time between coats. This spray method = allows=20 uniform development of the metallic color without flooding = or=20 floating the metallic particles. After achieving the = specified=20 color, allow the coating to cure a minimum of 4 hours but = not more=20 than 8 hours before clear applications.

After achieving = the desired=20 color, allow the coating to cure a minimum of 4 hours but = not more=20 than 8 hours. Within this period, seal the F9145 or F9147 = with=20 AWLCRAFT=AE 2000 Gloss Clear (F3029/G3010). Mix by volume = two parts=20 F3029 AWLCRAFT=AE 2000 Clear with one part AWL-CAT=AE #2 = (G3010) Spray=20 Converter to a smooth, homogenous mixture. Reduce 33% with = T0001 or=20 T0002 Reducer.
