Rylard Clean Cut Antifouling
The progressive improvement in canal and river water quality, combined with climatic changes, has resulted in a marked increase in the amount of weed and crustaceous fouling being experienced with canal boats and river craft. Not only does this give an unsightly appearance but reduces the effectiveness of the streamlining of the vessel resulting in higher fuel consumption and handling difficulties. Clean Cut has been specifically developed to overcome these problems taking the environment into consideration.
No organic biocides
Self polishing (eroding)*
Suitable for steel, wood and fibreglass hulls
Economic
Effective against Zebra Mussels
Easy to apply and re-coat
Can be applied over Rylard hull coatings
Available in colours
Suitable for high water turbulence areas i.e. swims, rudders
* Self polishing, erodible coatings are a popular method of reducing fouling. They combine a slow release anti-fouling together with gradual loss of the exposed surface. This combination makes it difficult for weeds and crustacea to adhere while continuously exposing a fresh active antifouling surface.
Copper oxide based, free from organic booster biocides. Suitable for steel, wood and fibreglass hulls with turbulence speeds of up to 30 knots. Designed for use in fresh and salt water. For full protection 2 coats are required per season.
NB Unsuitable for aluminium, galvanised surfaces or over Teflon based coatings.
